We’ve heard your feedback, and we’re working hard to make ad-hoc reporting easier for UCI’s financial community. As part of this effort, UCI has temporarily brought back the old Data Warehouse interface for generating customizable ad-hoc reports from the general ledger. Use of this interface is optional and Decision Support Cognos ad-hoc reports will still be available.
The old Data Warehouse interface—more formally known as BLISS (Business Logic Information Selection System)—is now accessible on Zotportal in the KFS Tab. Locate the KFS Decision Support portlet, expand the General Ledger Ad Hoc Templates section, and click the KFS BLISS Ad-Hoc Query link.
Limited to KFS General Ledger
This new version of BLISS is not completely identical to what was retired in 2014. This version can only generate reports from the KFS General Ledger. It cannot access any pre-KFS financial data. Historic financial data is only accessible via the Legacy Data Warehouse link in the KFS Decision Support portlet.
Future Development Plans
BLISS is being brought back temporarily while a more robust and user-friendly ad-hoc reporting tool is developed. Because BLISS is a stop-gap solution, there will be no further modifications or development. Information about the creation of a new ad-hoc reporting tool will be released as it becomes available.
More Information and Help
For help getting started with BLISS, we’ve created this webpage, which explains each tab in the tool and links to the BLISS user manual.
